Roller Coaster Engineering
Design, build, and experiment with dozens of working roller coaster models! This hands-on STEM kit makes learning the physics of force, motion, and energy as fun as a day at the amusement park.
Curious kids conduct a series of engineering challenges: What is the tallest roller coaster they can build? How about the longest straightaway? Can they build a loop-de-loop? What happens when you vary the weight of the cars, or the slope, length, or direction of the track? It’s learning through play: a practical introduction to physics principles including gravitation, potential energy, kinetic energy, free fall, projectile motion, friction, centripetal force, velocity, acceleration, and more.
The easy, modular building system consists of sturdy, durable pieces and a flexible track so they can build and test endless roller coaster designs for years to come. A large, full-color manual guides them through the model assembly and experiments with step-by-step illustrated instructions.
